About us


New Zealand Seafood's has been in operation since 1993. Primarily our business is processing oysters for both export and local markets. As a NZFSA approved processing plant our hygiene and safety standards are strictly monitored.

The only oyster processing plant with NZFSA approval in West Auckland, New Zealand Seafoods are suppliers of the delicious NZ Pacific Oyster. They also own oyster farms in the Mahurangi Harbour north of Auckland, which ensures freshly harvested oysters daily.

During the harvesting season the oysters arrive daily (weather permitting) freshly harvested from oyster farms in the Mahurangi Harbour and the Bay of Islands. Our driver collects and delivers the freshly harvested oysters back to processing plant in New Lynn, where our talented team clean, shuck and pack the oysters ready for sale.

Over the last 15 years Anton and Leigh Jelicich have cemented a reputation as one of the region's best oyster specialists. Their retail and processing plant located on 20B Portage Road, New Lynn supplies the public, restaurants, distributors, wholesalers and the export market.

As an international exporter, New Zealand Seafoods can offer the service of export wrapping for overseas travel to Australia, the Pacific Islands and Asia. Oysters can be checked in as luggage and really are a great hit at family reunions, weddings and other special celebrations.

Other products on offer are Australian Saucer Scallops - New Zealand Seafoods is the exclusive importer into New Zealand; and Australian King Prawns - ocean caught wild prawns which are not farmed hence are extremely flavoursome.

New Zealand Seafoods, 20 Portage Road, New Lynn is open to the public Monday - Friday from 7.30am to 4pm and some Saturdays.
